For
years, the Ford F-series line of pickup trucks has been the
best-selling line of pickup trucks in the world. That's because they
offer superior performance combined with the top levels of comfort and
convenience technology all around. It's now the new 2019 model year, and
the latest versions are rolling out.
Drivers
across the Doylestown and Warminster areas of the Philadelphia region
looking for the best in full-size, heavy-duty pickups know they can
count on the F-350 to get them where they need to go. Let's check out a
complete breakdown and review of the new 2019 Ford F-350 and learn where you can go to get into the cabin for a test drive.
Ford F-350 Overview
This year, the 2019 Ford F-350 hits showroom floors with a few new tricks and tweaks. Among these are the new Lariat Sport Package, which comes with special 20-inch wheels, a spray-in bedliner, black trim elements, and more. In addition, the former years' premium Sony stereo system has been replaced by B&O Playâ„¢. It's a part of the third generation of Super Duty pickups that first hit showrooms back in 2017.
Trim Levels and Features
The
new F-350 is quite the customizable full-sized pickup, with six trim
levels from which to choose. The base XL level gives you features like
manual lock front hubs for 4WD models, Ford SYNC® voice-control
infotainment system, CD player, USB port, Satellite radio, and more.
Higher levels of trim kick it up to higher performance and convenience options, including shift-on-the-fly 4WD for the ultimate in convenience and go-anywhere attitude; upgraded SYNC® 3 audio, which allows you complete smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™; a premium B&O® stereo system; and extra USB ports to keep your devices charged.
From there you start to add on luxury features like automatic wipers, LED box lighting, remote start, heated seats, and steering wheel for those cold winter days, and a range of safety features like surround-view camera, GPS, Blind Spot Monitoring with Cross-Traffic Alerts, trailer tow cameras, and more.
Engines and Performance
There are two different engine options on the new F-350. These include the standard 6.2L V8 engine, which puts out 385 horsepower with 430 lb-ft of torque. The available upgrade is a turbo V8 at 6.7L, which delivers a pounding 450 horsepower and 935 lb-ft of torque. Both are set up with a 6-speed automatic, with optional 4WD and optional dual rear-wheel axle.
Naturally, since it's a pickup truck, towing and payload are important. The standard engine is rated for a maximum towing capacity, when properly equipped, of up to 15,000 pounds with a payload of 4,430 pounds. Stepping it up to the turbo V8 nets you a whopping 18,000-pound towing capacity with 4,170-pound payload.
