We hope you check it out, and we encourage you to reach out to our teammates if you have questions!
Ford Edge vs Hyundai Santa Fe: Cabin Space
One key thing that SUV drivers of all stripes are looking for is a spacious cabin. Curiously, the 2020 Ford Edge eclipses the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe on a couple of dimensions-take a look through them right here.
First, there's the question of second-row headroom, which the Edge answers with a resounding 40.3 inches; the Santa Fe offers just 39.2 inches. Next, when it comes to second-row hip room, the Ford SUV gives passengers 57.5 inches while the Hyundai only offers 56.3 inches. Finally, the 2020 Edge beats out its competitor in terms of both first-row and second-row shoulder room at 60.3 inches and 60.5 inches, respectively. The 2020 Santa Fe shoulder room measures in at merely 59.1 inches in the front and 58.3 inches in the rear.
Ford Edge vs Hyundai Santa Fe: Engine Power
Engine power is another key point. After all, you want an engine that can power your adventures.
The 2020 Ford Edge offers several such engines. Several of its trim levels come standard with a Twin-Scroll 2.0L EcoBoostÃ’Â I-4 turbocharged, direct-injection engine that's capable of kicking out 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, if you're craving even more power, you could upgrade to its ST trim level's 2.7L EcoBoostÃ’Â V6 Twin-Turbocharged, Direct-Injection Engine, which ups the ante by generating 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Â
So, can the Hyundai Santa Fe compete? Not really. Its standard 2.4L Inline 4-Cylinder engine barely manages to produce 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque, while its optional 2.0L Inline 4-Cylinder Turbocharged version isn't really that much better at 235 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
Ford Edge vs Hyundai Santa Fe: Safety Awards
Last, but not least, we wanted to touch upon one department where these two SUVs are pretty evenly matched-safety. In fact, both vehicles are 2020 IIHS Top Safety Picks when equipped with their respective LED headlights, and they've also both been given a 2020 NHTSA 5-Star Overall Safety Rating.
