It's because of features like these that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has awarded the 2020 Ford Escape's AWD models their prestigious 5-Star Overall Safety Rating. In the same vein, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the Escape a 2020 TOP SAFETY PICK (when equipped with specific headlights, that is).

So, regardless of which expert authority you trust, it's a well-regarded automobile when it comes to safety.
