The Ford Explorer safety features begin with smart engineering both under the hood and inside the cabin.

While you're driving, the AdvanceTrac® system with Roll Stability Control helps keep you steady and grounded on the road without you even realize it's happening. Inside, LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tether Anchors for CHildren) ensures your little ones are snuggly safer in their seats.

There's also an advanced system of airbags including the Safety Canopy System. These side-curtain airbags deploy downward and outward toward the side window to better protect the heads of passengers seated in the outboard areas.

Using intelligent radar, sensors, and cameras, these systems work together to help keep you prepared on the road. Best of all, each of the following is standard on every Explorer trim level:

• Blind Spot Information System®: This handy tool can see in that pesky blind spot and will notify you if a car is hovering there. It's also equipped with Cross-Traffic Alert, notifying you when there's traffic while you're in reverse.
• Lane-Keeping System: Distractions happen. When they do, this system will step up to ensure you stay centered in your lane. It'll also recommend you take a break from driving if you veer from your lane too many times.
• Auto High-Beam Headlights: While driving at night, these high beams will automatically switch on. Then, when they sense another vehicle is headed your way, they'll dim until they pass.
• Rear View Camera: Backing your car out of the driveway or a parking spot just got a lot easier. This feature will show you what's behind your vehicle in your dashboard display. It even has a built-in washer to keep dust, snow, and other debris away from its lenses.
